| Awareness,
to Action, to Achievement
In this age of continual learning, too much information,
and too little time, awareness of our external environment,
what is inside ourselves, and the relationship between the
two is increasingly coming to play a critical role in work
and the world.
Knowledge Sculpting was founded with this awareness in mind,
for both individuals and organizations. Knowledge alone is
no longer enough, or perhaps too much. Sometimes, what we
know keeps us stuck, and it's what we don't know or what we
don't want to look at and consider that holds the key to moving
forward. But staying comfortable in old ways or being fearful
of new things can often be the rule. Sculpting knowledge involves
the removal of old and unnecessary perceptions and blinders
to reveal the solution that is already there, and to do so
actively rather than remain passive in resistance. This is
the key trait that underlies individual and managerial leadership
-- the competencies and philosophies of knowing self.
The sculpting of knowledge leads to personal wisdom and awareness.
There has been too much argument and wasted time about the
superiority of being goal-oriented versus process-oriented.
The future will require holding both important at the same
time. This realization and ability is what will separate the
better leaders from the rest. |
